Sport in Java
Sport in Java, especially in Purworejo, are the same with the sport in each country throughout the world. The young people in Purworejo likes sport very much, especially football. My school (SMUN 7 Purworejo) has its own competition which is called "Tanjung League". The name of this football competition (Tanjung) was taken from the name of the most trees in my school. We hold the league every year and it is participated by the students in the first class and the second class. The league was joined by sixteen class which consist of eight class from the first class, class I.I until class 1.8, and eight class from the second class, class 11.1 until class 11.8. The third class, like me now, don't join the league because we have to prepare Government Final Examination which determines our graduation. But we can still watch it although we are little bit disappointed because we don't join the competition. The league usually is held on the raining season.
The winner of the competition receives the trophy from the Headmaster, which is given on the ceremony every Monday. They also receive money from the school. It is always a big pride of each class to win the competition.
