Village people in the old farms centuries back made tales and poems and songs to amuse themselves. Most of that has fallen in oblivion. But there are folk tales and folk songs that have been handed over from one generation to another by oral tradition. Some of those tales and songs are still there. They are interesting in that sense that they can tell us something about their life, their ideas and their beliefs. Folk literature in Sweden as well as in Java will be studied in this part of the project. |
